CYCLE THE BEST OF GREECE

HIGHLIGHTS

The roads on the Peloponnese are as glorious as anywhere in Europe. Far less busy than Mallorca and Girona and as mountainous as France but with more coastline and islands than Spain, better cycling weather than Italy and more history than almost anywhere in the world.

Ancient sites for coffee stops are your reward for cycling the beautiful roads and tough climbs, that the likes of Mark Cavendish and Wout van Aert have trained on. We personalise routes so that every level of cyclist can leave us fitter and healthier. ‘Cyclist magazine’ has recently featured Greece on the cover three times, so, ride the best roads in Europe soon, before the whole cycling world discovers the Peloponnese.

We head out after a hearty breakfast on one of our numerous routes, taking us along the coast or into the hills for a coffee stop by the beach or an ancient site. A bit more cycling takes us into a harbourside town for lunch before looping back to Epidavros for refreshments and a late afternoon swim. We generally guide our rides but can provide routes and notes for those who want to self-guide.

DATES / AVAILABILITY

We welcome cyclists in the Spring and Autumn months, when most tourists are at home but the sun is out, meaning we always hope to enjoy great weather and quiet conditions. Our breaks start on each Saturday but we can generally accommodate arrivals and departures on any day, for a stay of any number of nights within each week. Autumn ‘24 dates - 14th September - 10th November. / Spring ‘25 dates - 29th March - 8th June.

ROUTES

We can arrange a break and routes around exactly what you want to do; tough or relaxing cycling, coffee stops at ancient sites, quiet routes and plenty of local eating and drinking tavernas etc.  Our best routes involve around 80km+ a day and a 1,000m of climbing but we can do whatever the group would like, on a daily basis. Shorter/half-day rides - or longer with more climbing.

All weeks include amazing coastal roads and hillside climbs, a ride to an island and a loop around it, to Nafplio - the first capital of Greece, Methana Volcano, over the oldest standing bridge in the world, a 12,000 seat amphitheatre and the best bakeries, taverns and coffee shops of the Peloponnese.
