Γεια σας από την Ελένη και τον Χρυσό
(Hello from Helen & Chris)
Meet Your Hosts
WELCOME TO OUR GREECE
Breakaway was born from two lifelong passions: my love of exploring the world by bicycle and Helen's love of Greek hospitality
Together, we've created the kind of cycling holidays we'd want to experience ourselves - ones that combine exceptional riding with authentic local experiences, great food, warm hospitality and the simple pleasures that make a holiday truly memorable.
HELEN
Although we've lived in London for many years, Helen is Greek and has spent a lifetime travelling between Britain and Greece. She knows the culture, the traditions and, perhaps most importantly, the people.
Whether she's recommending a favourite taverna, preparing breakfast overlooking the sea or making sure everyone feels at home, Helen has a wonderful gift for making guests feel part of the local community rather than simply visitors passing through.
CHRIS
I've spent most of my life on two wheels.
Over the years, I've cycled in more than 80 countries, from the Himalayas to South America, represented Great Britain at the amateur World Championships and became the oldest Briton to climb Mont Ventoux six times in 24 hours.
I've written about cycling, led rides, explored some of the world's most spectacular roads and spent decades searching for places I'd happily return to.
It was during one of those journeys, cycling along the Peloponnese coast, that I realised I'd found somewhere truly special. Out of everywhere I've ridden, this was the place I wanted to keep coming back to - and eventually share with others.
Why Breakaway?
We believe the best holidays are about far more than covering a distance.
They're about swimming in the sea after a ride.
Stopping for coffee in village squares.
Lunches in family-run tavernas.
Conversations that last late into warm evenings.
Discovering places you'd never find on your own.
And returning home not only fitter, but with memories that stay with you long after the tan has faded.
Whether you're joining us for a week's riding, training for your next challenge, or simply looking to experience the real Greece by bike, we'd love to welcome you to one of our favourite places in the world.
