CYCLE THE REAL GREECE
Small group cycling holidays through the quiet roads, ancient landscapes and coastal villages of the Greek Peloponnese.
MORE THAN SOMEWHERE BEAUTIFUL TO RIDE
Greece gives you wonderful riding, proper climbs, blue sea and reliable sunshine. But what makes a Breakaway different is what happens between the miles: coffee beside a 2,500-year-old amphitheatre, a ripe orange handed to you by a stranger, lunch in a village you would never otherwise find, and evenings around a taverna table with people who arrived as guests.
These are not roads we selected from a map. They are the roads we ride ourselves.

Can be guided or self-guided.
OUR LIFETIME FINDING GREAT ROADS
Breakaway isn’t the result of moving to Greece and then deciding to offer cycling holidays. It is the result of a lifetime spent seeing the world from a bicycle.
Chris has cycled through more than 80 countries - from Tibet and Saudi Arabia to the length of America. He has taken a bicycle to Everest Base Camp, represented Great Britain in his age group and become the oldest Briton to climb Mont Ventoux six times in 24 hours.
Then he rounded a corner in the Peloponnese, saw Epidavros and found somewhere he wanted to keep riding—and share with others.
Five years later, cyclists have travelled from Canada, Britain, America, Australia and across Europe to ride with Chris and Helen. Cycling Plus named Breakaway one of the world’s best rides, and many guests have returned with partners, friends and cycling clubs.
THE GREECE MOST VISITORS NEVER EXPERIENCE
This is not resort Greece. It is a landscape of quiet coastal roads, pine-covered mountains, orange groves, ancient theatres, small harbours and villages where coffee can still occupy an entire morning.
Our home is Palaia Epidavros, beside the sanctuary where people travelled in search of health and renewal thousands of years ago. From here, four different roads lead towards the coast, mountains, islands and some of the most extraordinary surviving places of the ancient world.
You experience them at the right speed: quickly enough to travel, slowly enough to notice.
A HOLIDAY THAT BELONGS HERE
Breakaway is woven into the life of Epidavros. We use local accommodation, tavernas, cafés, drivers, bike businesses and producers—and keep as much guest spending as possible within the Greek community.
Our groups are deliberately small. Much of the energy at Villa Rosa comes from the sun, and we avoid unnecessary vehicle support. You experience more of the place you came to see, while your holiday contributes directly to the people who live here.
That matters to us. We want Breakaway to be good for our guests, good for the village and lighter on the landscape around us.
