GOOD DAYS
Life with a bicycle.
Chris is currently writing his new book, to be published in 2026. Thanks for signing up below to read early chapters - and hopefully give your response, to help create a book that is as interesting, inspiring and useful to as many readers as possible!
As a child, Chris Ward very much disliked cycling — until the day his parents took off his stabilisers and he discovered freedom on two wheels. That moment began a lifelong, sometimes rocky relationship, that led to a different way of experiencing the world - from a saddle.
Since then, Chris has cycled through more than eighty countries — from Saudi Arabia to North Korea, from India to the Greek mountains he now calls home. He’s written for cycling magazines, raced for Great Britain, become the oldest Briton to ride up Mont Ventoux six times in a single day, and may also be the only person to deliberately cross an entire country without a mobile phone — just to see what it would be like.
But this isn’t a book about records or gear ratios. It’s about the joy of real-life experience in a screen-obsessed world — the wind, the weather, the friendships, and the freedom that riding brings.
By pedalling slowly through life, Chris has discovered not only the kindness of strangers, but the art of living — in the present, unhurried, unfiltered, and entirely real.
Whether you’re a commuter, club cyclist, racer, or someone who hasn’t been on a bike in years, Good Days will inspire you to bring more of the real world back into your own life.
Because cycling — like life itself — isn’t about the destination.
It’s about the journey.
